Here's the thing: it's a new take on the tale of Snow White and that's all fine and dandy. I even like the fact that this film takes itself seriously throughout. However, the serious subject matter and tone start to wear thin from early on and I hadn't lasted an hour. It's a 131 minute film that's beautifully shot (well, individual shots are pretty to look at, the overall cinematography is terribly mediocre) but it just isn't interesting. Charlize Theron is pretty good in it (can she actually deliver a bad performance?) and Kristen Stewart couldn't act her way out of a box, but Kristen Stewart plays the titular character of Snow White. And therein lies the biggest problem with the film (from what I'd watched): Stewart's Snow White is supposed to be prettier than Theron's Evil Queen and I that's remarkably tough to swallow.
I cannot review this film because I hadn't watched all of it but I don't care for what I'd watched. It's never interesting, Kristen Stewart plays in it, and it also stars Chris Hemsworth (as the Huntsman), who's also a terrible actor. This is a huge SKIP IT.
